ellephai: Haven't actually contacted anyone, but have certainly felt the fleeting impulse to do so. I guess I might do so one day if the situation was such that the person appeared to have some factual piece of information that I wanted to know. But not just for the purpose of getting acquainted with them. I find it to be a general rule that anyone you might feel moved to contact because some personal information/shared interest that they have publicly revealed about themselves makes you think they're cool thinks people who are drawn to contact them by it are uncool. Perverse, but there it is.
