¿Question #1224?
[Deleted user]: [deleted question]

dokmatrix: No, and I am glad it didn't. My introduction to this game came when I played the NES cartridge version. As far as open world games go, it is/was my first love in that regard.
pwilz: I liked the new version for Windows. It's still not as out of control as Civilization.
ricardofo: yes
xofour: naaah well naaaah glad it made a brief comeback. IT allowed me to share it with my child.
pooterbug: no idea
westbrookgamer: Should have been set in Somalia
onetakemovie: haven't played the non-dos version
Sorp222: No
Polgara: yes
atrium: no
Ben Firestorm: Hell no the recent one was cool
KnobDoctor: Nah, they should have made it for the VIC-20
sbwilson: Since I haven't played the new version, I'd have to say yes - I hate thinking of other people currently enjoying a game that I loved. If it was still a DOS game, I could fool myself into thinking nobody was playing it anymore.
DHEK: Nope. The new Windows one is pretty good.
TheArchAngel: yes
mrspank: Nah, Firaxis did a pretty good job on the remake. I just wish it wasn't so repetitive. Once you beat it, that's pretty much it.
arkibet: dunno, never played it
MisterCranky: How should I know? That's why I ASKED.
dmomo: I don't know.
ZombyDawg: I hate the dancing!
vampywife: probably

Regault: No.

POvidiusNaso: I played it on Nintendo.
skrutsch: never played
Karlsen: The Windows ones were OK (except for CivNet that sucked big time), but if you mean should it have remained a computer game. God Yes.
The Unbeliever: 42
ThatFalafelGirl: yeah
B_J_S: yes

dakarp: I'll have to try the board game, and find out.
TakeMeToYourLizard: No! I Love the new version!
isolated: No. DOS bad.
AlorielLelyn: No way. It's really quite fun. Especially the dancing. Actually, the one main flaw with it is that I cannot be a female pirate in the game. Historically, there were many female pirates.
gnomehome: It was DOS ?
thoia: No way, the new PC game is great! I love the new PC game...although I don't have any interest at all in the boardgame.
GuyHill: Yes
BobDodgerBlue: The new one looks cool
Flyspeck23: No. Because now I know that a game can be mediocre and staying true to it's formidable roots at the same time.
JoeCthulhu: no
Shakar: No, evolution is good.
Blackwind: hell yeah
CDRodeffer: Anything but Microsoft
chaddyboy_2000: I don't know.

jttm: Yes
skelebone: Dos, with ASCII art, like Kingdom of Kroz.
