ryanker: Tough one. Currently I can't get enough of the Rippingtons, but I don't predict that they'll stay at the top for long. Weather Report is good. Some Miles Davis is great, but he's got some stuff I just can't wrap my head around. I still listen to Brubeck's "Time Out" album beginning-to-end at least once or twice a year. Chick Corea. Wynton Marsalis. Herbie Hancock. Charlie Parker.
Hector Vortac: Picking more than one might be cheating so I'll use 3 different genres. Al Hirt, Pat Metheny,.... and why has no one else mentioned Dave Brubeck?
