But, gamers can introduce others to a form of relaxation from stress, a safe and constructive outlet for competition, and a way to form connections between many age groups and interests.

An explanation along the lines of "through their attempts to model real-life scenarios, gamers can uncover serious issues before a tragic event occurs." But I'm not sure that I believe that. That's what engineers are supposed to do. The guys who designed the Tacoma Narrows Bridge ("Galloping Gertie") were probably off playing Jenga somewhere.

AlorielLelyn: I think so, yes. We are the ones who sit around and think about the zillions of ways we could have improved upon something that happened. Eventually, one of us will end up in a position where that is meaningful, and we'll be able to use the answers we've come up with.
