Ardos: Once. My father wouldn't budge on a rule dispute that was clearly written in the manual. His defense was that we hadn't enforced the rule in our earlier games (which was true). However, we had read the rule earlier and realized that it would change how the game was played so we mentioned that we had been playing the game incorrectly before we started. Obviously he forgot about it because it caused a great dispute. That was not a good day.

hooded_paladin: Yeah. Cities and Knights of Catan leaves me mad because it's become the only game we play sometimes, and the luck factor can leave someone far, far behind through no fault of their own, so it's not deserving of only-game-in-the-world status, not by a long shot. So, once or twice when I placed fine and totally got left behind, I stopped playing and said we should play something else next time. Not that we played something else the next time.
