¿Question #1657?
[Deleted user]: [deleted question]
vandemonium: Fine by me. Whatever peanut butters your jelly.
Zedsdead: I'm against a lot of modern weddings, gay or straight. What a monumental waste. Instead of putting Junior through college, let's take out a 3rd mortgage to pay for a $6500 one-use dress, a nine-tier wedding cake sprinkled with ACTUAL fairy dust, and a church and hall that charge 47 times their actual value because we're stupid enough to pay it. Right. Like pissing money away means you love each other more.
XanderF: For. Consenting adults should be allowed the social and legal benefits of marriage if they choose to.
gantrell: its up to them
jhearne: For it with some conditions.
Bakelite: Live and let live.
DKahnt: or
blindspot: I've never been to one, but a gay wedding sounds like it would be a lot of fun actually.
cgund: for civil unions.
chockle: I think it's cool that 2 radio contestants of opposite sexes that have never met each other can legally marry each other to win an XBOX360, and 2 homosexual citizens that have lived together, taken care of each, and loved each other for 30 years are denied the benefits that the 2 radio show contestants get.
ctrzn: for. who are they really hurting??
Neil Thomson: For
stevebritgimp: who with?
curio77: Pro.
ltux: For.
themagni: When I first heard, I was against. I love my wife and I didn't want to have to marry a dude. Then I found out it wasn't manditory. Sex is a small part of marriage. If two people love each other enough to get married, then they should do it.
DHEK: For. Discrimination in all forms and kinds must end. Down with bigotry!
bigbadsteve: meh
Leo-T: for - live & let live
NeoSkywalker: Whatever your heart tells you.
POvidiusNaso: I'm FOR gay marriage and weddings like God is all for destroying masturbators with lightning. (Gen. 38)
Beyak: civil union
ZiggyZambo: against
duchamp: To me, it is one of the worst things in human thinking you can be "for" or "against" something how people live or what they do together or whatever, as long as all participants want to do that. IMO, a thinking like that is already the root of fascism. But of course you have every right to put a question like that!
Prestonisnormal: Go for it
dmomo: Not for or against, in the same way I am not for or against traditional weddings.
Blinko: Against
Beelzebub: For
heavymetalhamster: For. Infact yesterday this was made legal in the UK
SybotCB: for
Cerebus: For.
herman_the_german: who cares
hacksword: I'm against straight marriage.
BeatPosse: i don't know about gay marriages, but gay weddings are a hell of a lot of fabulous
ralpheous: How much do I have to spend on a gift?
Shotmagnet: for. what's the big deal?
Bagherra: abstain
Subdeep: For
kinetic: meh, doesn't bother me if it is legal. You can't change what you are
fFish: of course.
dietevil: I'm unlikely to have one but I see no reason others shouldn't
pronoblem: I am not gay. So I am against itfor myself. What other people do is none of my business.
keldrak: for
brainrob: They've been going on for years - why ask now?
LemonyFresh: Hmpf.
kuocal: against all weddings
Xlyce: Being opposed to Gay weddings is akin to be opposed to Women's rights or slavery
chrisisapimp: against
Numskull: My opinion: In this day and age, ANYONE, man or woman, gay or straight, who wants to get married, is insane.
Dr. No: no problem, let them do it, if they think it's worth it
scriptorum: I'd rather marry a straight person, like myself, otherwise certain intimate moments will be frustrating, but it's good to think about every possibility. Oh wait, I getcha, you mean do I approve of OTHER PEOPLE enjoining in same sex marriages. Sure, why not? As for a wedding itself, I don't really care, that's up to the couple and their church. However, churches have been known to encourage the use of "abomination," so you can make an educated guess about how that generally turns out.
ErisQuilty: For
Jim_P: For... what are you? Homophobic?
Karlsen: 4
yossarians: for
taraba: As far as legally allowing it? Yes. Religions can take their own stance on it and shouldn't be forced to allow it.
Debate: Hell, yes!
Lord_Prussian: Whose?
dakarp: For, as long as it doesn't hurt the overall cause of gay civil rights. IN a n ideal world, gay weddings would be fully accepted, but in the US, they may hurt gays on even more important issues of discrimination.
CharlieWonka: who cares but the two getting hitched
GuyHill: for
erli: For
jellospike: Get out of people's bedrooms, dammit! There is so much poverty, violence and pollution in our world, how can someone (especially a governement) care about that?!
skrutsch: for
The Unbeliever: 42
Redneon: For
Gecko23: Un-interested actually. So I guess for, by default.
AWildEep: For? not really. Against? Not really.
Bearcat89: Since homosexuality is an abomination, you can make an educated guess.
Magnus the Blue: Depends on whether I'm invited and the prospect of an open bar...
MisterCranky: As long we're allowing such stupid crap as war, ignorance, and hunger, why should we bother denying gays the right to marry? Okay, okay...stop shouting "Straw Man, Straw Man!" I think we should even allow gay straw men to marry.
reddogfive: shrug
4wire: don't care
djlg: Not for myself, thanks. But "whatever" for anyone else.
jmagnini: for, let em do what they want
nexttothemoon: To each their own.
queequeg: for
xlorp: Let them have it. I can't imagine the benefits of keeping people apart.
PopeBrain: for
heli: why not
Wintergoblin: for
Malacoda: For.
BaSL: for
snoozefest: for
Jester28: against
Randy Cox: I think you meant "gay marriage", which I'm for. I'm not really for wedding ceremonies in general. Too much fru-fru where the end result is that you're married, which you can do via Notary Public in SC.
sdownin: It's not going to affect my life one iota if two gay folks decide to get married. As far as I can see, I've got no right to deny them.
puffinge: Give me a non-religious reason why they shouldn't exist.
DenverWolf: I don't think marriage is good idea in general, but I certainly have nothing at all against gay marrages if people really want to enter into one. Civil unions (legal unions that infer tax status and benefits, etc.) I'm all for, gay or straight.
solove: I'm against weddings of all descriptions. So if gay men or women want to ruin their lives then so be it. (Please don't let my wife see this)
EndersGame: Against. (Rom. 1)
Cavedog_pdx: There needs to be a way in this country for people to be able to take care of their loved ones in whatever scenario you can imagine. However churches shouldn't be made to perform weddings if they don't condone gay marriage.
hibikir: I'm all for mandating gay, interracial weddings than end in 4 years. After that, you're forced to divorce!
AlorielLelyn: Gay weddings happen irregardless of the law. That's up to religion. It should be legal, since it grants rights to the couple not normally available. The current system is unconstitutional according to the US Constitution, and rather unequal irregardless (that is, allowing hetero marriages, and not homo)
chaddyboy_2000: I'm not going to go there.
Volstag: It makes no difference either way
gashlycrumb: For
CDRodeffer: Why not?
skelebone: This is an awfully politically charged question for this forum.
tragicpoet: Indifferent, same as normal weddings in my mind
gnomehome: For
Windopaene: For, as it's none of my business really
UhhhClem: For, but then I'm not a hate-filled soulless troglodyte.
jttm: Indifferent
viogression: For
djflippy: Everyone should have the opportunity to marry the one they love.
BobDodgerBlue: Against
CortexBomb: For, though I think marriage as an institution is outdated and should just be done away with altogether with civil unions being standard for any people who feel the need of a legal sanction for their coupling
starbug: definitely for!
Blackwind: I'm all for happing weddings, why else have them?
