Woelf: Slight preference for nice wooden pieces, but it depends entirely on the game and how the pieces are being used.

govmiller: Well, depends on the use. If some definition is needed, plastic minis. If only a "token" indication is needed, then wooden tokens. If I'm just counting, glass blobs are fine.
