fellonmyhead: Which do you prefer to buy from - bricks-and-mortar or online game stores? If the reason is beyond that of value for money, can you tell us why?

PolarDad: I would prefer brick and mortar but money is so tight right now that I'm almost exclusively online. ...actually, I've been downsizing lately.

Narlgoth: I'd prefer to support a local business, but there's not a lot of Board Games for sale around my town, so online is normally my final destination. I'd say I was about 65% eBay, 30% online vendor, 5% B&M.
Svengaard: I'd prefer to buy from brick-and-mortar stores because money stays in the local economy more, but I don't make enough money to have morals.

Corran Horn: It's a coin-toss, really. I usually support my FLGS, but sometimes there are games they can't get a hold of. And sometimes I'm just plain too impatient to wait for them to get the game...
Woelf: B&M - I prefer to support local businesses whenever possible. Also, I don't like having to wait for the delivery truck to show up when I want a game.
YearoftheCat: I prefer wherever is cheapest (often online) but end up buying a lot from FLGS anyway.
Steerpike.Instance: online. Better than making the journey into town to find FLGS does not have what I want and the staff are too busy playing WH20K to serve me
Cringing Dragon: If I had a nearby proper gaming store I would probably use it, if only so I could see what I was getting and have it straight away. In reality though, it's much less effort to order online than to get to a decent gaming store.
Hendal: B&M, to see the game , and feel it, and talk to a person face to face
pwilz: I am limited in what my local stores carry here, so I usually order online. I like browsing stores of place I visit, and often buy from them there, but that's usually just a habit.

onibaloney: I like to buy from both. For the really expensive (relative I know, but $50 +) I prefer online, for simple shameful economic self interest. For everything else, I like the immeadiate satisfaction, and I like to browse game titles. Not to mention supporting stores that provide gaming space.

The Great Sun Jester: Whilst I, like most gamers, I suspect, would rather go to a real shop, it's just no feasible for anyone in Britain outside of the largest cities. Smaller towns and cities just can't support a dedicated games shop.

Ebon Wendigo: B&M, I play games there with my friends, including the owner. It's also generally more immediate and you can actually pick up things to look at them.

Fawkes: FLGS. It's cheaper than buying online (at least where I live), you don't have the security issues and you encourage them to stock more good games.

Randy Cox: Is Tripp puttin' you up to this? I (and, in my mind, damn near every reasonable person on earth) purchases stuff from the place they can get what they want. If a local store were to exist and have everything I want in stock and be convenient to my route to/from work, I'll purchase there. Otherwise, I'll buy on line. Money is NEVER the consideration. As Clinton said, "It's the convenience, stupid?"

CortexBomb: I prefer to buy from B&Ms because I'm all for small, local ventures. The problem is that my local B&M cannot stock German only titles, which is a not insignificant part of my buying habits now. I also buy a lot of OOP stuff. Thus, despite being very supportive, I don't shop there all that often
