¿Question #2095?
deathwish: anyone know the significance of the unique number on the ouside of the special 40th edition of the boardgame risk?

Jrtolf: Nope.
pricero1: It's the date of your death.
Woelf: That number means it's the 40th anniversary of the game.
helobubba: Nope, not here.
BloodyJack: Illuminati code for your manner of death
hibikir: I'm sure someone does
edomingox: nope
Nikku: Sense of self worth
WonderLlama: I don't. Serial number maybe?
mbuckingham: No
DHEK: Collector's edition serial number?
martybjsg: If I told you I would then have to kill you and that just isn't my 'thing'.
JoeyHemlock: No.
Philip Thomas: Yes
SisyphusX: Yes. But it's not me.
Cromaa: Was it the price?
LaFey: No.
StormKnight: I think its an Illuminatus code.
SkyBry: No idea.
jasta6: I'll have to have a look, don't know.....................................................
dwarf: No.
LemonyFresh: Probably
scriptorum: Do tell.
bigbadsteve: i believe that it is a government tracking device
chrisisapimp: risk rocks
Debate: Limited edition?
CharlieWonka: Was it a limited run
divisionbyzorro: It's how many people died in the production of that game.
Great Dane: Yes
rdmasters: Print run number. Makes it 'collectable', you see. As in historically. Not as in 'Ha! My Risk deck is better than yours!' Although there are some possibilities there. It's sod to shuffle them, though.
skrutsch: Risk? Never heard of it. ;-)
2amp: marketing ploy - pretend it's limited edition (limited to 1,000,000,000 copies!)
Lord_Prussian: It's on the map and it's like a serial number to specify each copy of the 40th edition to enhance collectability, I presume.
snoozefest: no
shumyum: I left my copy under a potted plant. After watering the plant, the runoff ruined the box. So any significance is probably not so significant any more.
djlg: To make you feel special about getting that "limited", "unique", "special" edition (only 42 million units made!)
AWildEep: no
MisterCranky: Yes, each and every number was hand-picked by God to represent a different quantity or ordering.
gnomehome: Limited edition ?
kennyb: hmmm....let me ask big brother..
Tim Synge: Not sure there is one. If you mean the one on the mapboard, yes.
nexttothemoon: Not me.
stephensj23: sku?
ValJor: I wasn't even aware of this feature
jttm: No idea
Bearcat89: I am sure that *somebody* knows it.
BobDodgerBlue: Not me
AlorielLelyn: Perhaps it's unit number? As in 1 of 1000, or 35 of 1000?
CDRodeffer: It's the mark of the beast.
Spielfreak: Nope. No one knows, not even Hasbro.
Blackwind: nope
CortexBomb: I wasn't even aware that there is a unique number on the outside
skelebone: Governmental tracking ID.
chaddyboy_2000: NO.
