¿Question #220280?
Woelf: Which is worse on a website: Ads that load before any of the actual content, or ads that load with a delay so when they do come up they abruptly move the content (or links you want to click on)? [For the purposes of this question, assume Ad Blockers are not present or are not able to completely block all ads on the page.]

kswingruber: ads
Woelf: Pre-loading ads were way worse in the days of slower internet, when they'd eat up precious bandwidth. The ones that wait and jump in front of your pointer just as you're about to click a link (so you hit the ad instead) are the absolute worst. Right behind them are the ones that fill most of the page and can't be easily scrolled past or closed. /// @Blazur - The trick with anti-adblock sites like that is to pause your adblock, refresh the page, then turn adblock back on as it's reloading. If you time it right, it gets you through the gate while still blocking the majority of their ads.
Blazur: Interstitial ads are far more intrusive. My ultimate pet peeve are sites that deny access when ad-blockers are present.
mattomaw: The second one. It is really annoying when the ad pops up and you click it.

Inkedad: moving ads fo sho. But what also irks me is when I go to watch a trailer for something... and I have to wait for an ad to play first... like.. are you for real? YOU ARE FORCING ME TO WATCH AN AD BEFORE I WATCH AN AD!?!?!?!?!
RavingLoon: Ads that change position to follow you as you scroll, so they are constantly moving actual content out of the way.
0Shea0: Ads with scroll bars built in so that they take up your whole phone screen and keep you from scrolling down to the rest of the article.
