¿Question #220616?
mattomaw: Roll up! Roll up! The stupid golf obsessed idiot is back! Tomorrow is the rematch against the 11 handicapper who I thrashed last week. He is looking for revenge! I don't think he is going to give me so many shots this match! So, what will I go round in this time? The hard course again. Last three rounds 99, 108 (on easier course at Skibbereen) and 101 ( at Bantry). Bear in mind I have been nuttering like a total nutter in the field. Swing feeling good, although the odd mega slice and hook still creeps in. Have not been nuttering on the puttering or chippering because I cannot do that at home, so likely little improvement there, but I am going to sneek 30 mins practice before the match! Waffle, waffle, waffle! Bloomin' eck! Boring golf idiot! Golf, golf, golf, golf. What a boring old fart I am!!! Anyway, 10GG to closest guess on my round. And just for fun - what will the result be? 10GG to exact guess there. Bonus 100GG if you make an accurate prediction of some particular event of note that happens during my round. GOLF! GOLF! GOLF! I HAVE THE FEEEEEEEVVVVEEEERRRR!
mattomaw: Fluffed it! 107. Dissappointed. Mixed old bag. My driver decided to return to slice city, which is BS. Had some blinding moments ( a birdie! Two or three pars on hard holes) but putting and chipping were indifferent,, although there were glimmers of improvement. The sixteen basically summed up my day. A really long par 4. 485 yards. Way out of reach for me. Crunched the drive ( my one good one of the day), nailed a beauty of a 3 iron ( dead straight). 70 yards from pin. Duffed pitch that goes 10 yards. A second duffed pitch for 10 yards. Then a beaut to within 8 feet. Then 4 putts! Bollox! 8 for the hole after I had slammed it close in two! Think I had four 8s today. That just kills the round in terms of strokes. No coming back from that. However, the matchplay was great. I was 3up after 5 ( as I was the previous week) then he fought back to all square after 9. Then the "Amen corner" of Bantry. 10,11,12. Sorts out the men from the boys. He played them a beauty, but so did I!! 1up after 12. Then the par3 13th. I lashed it wide of the green. He put it to within 3 feet! He is charging! But then I chipped in! BIRDIE! 2up! Then he plays a beaut next hole, but 3 putts from 6 feet to blow a hot chance. Still 2up! Then I duff the drive on the 15th and straining to reach the green, I stick it in the trees. AARRRGGHH! Only 1up then. Then the sixteenth (as mentioned earlier). Two crunching shots and an easy chance for dormie 2! Then mega duff city! 6 shots from 70 yards! What a bummer! All square. Two to play. Long par 3 straight into the setting sun. Hit it and guess where it has gone. 3 iron. Strike it unbelievably! Hope it is good. No idea where it is. Walk up the fairway. Edge of the green! Chip and two putt wins the hole! 1up with one to play. The par 5 18th. Just have to play steady to win. He tees off ( why didn't I tee off? I won the last hole. Dunno. Who knows why?). He flicks the edge of the tree line! Could have gone anywhere! All I have to do is put it straight down the gawping wide fairway and the win is mine! Set up to the ball. Go through my routine. Staying calm. Then I crunch my drive off the toe of the club straight into the trees right in front on me! OOOWWWWW! MERDE TETE! The ball comes out 10 yards along the hole. We then both ding dong down the fairway, him with the advantage. If he pitches onto the green ( pretty routine for him) then he will win the hole and match halved. He swings as I accept my fate. But he's pushed it! INTO THE BASTARD BUNKER TO THE RIGHT! My chance! My pitch is easy. But no shot is a gimme for my standard! Pressure on! Feeling good! Not nervous. Swing back. Stay cool. THHHUUNNKKK! Sweet connection! Surely! OH NO! PUSHED IT TO THE RIGHT! Straight into the devil bunker! Side by side. Me first. Total fluffed bunker shot! ( Only played about 3 in the last 3 years). Right across the green. He plays a beaut. He wins hole. Match halved. I LOVE GOLF!!! Does not matter how good or bad you are, it is the stories that count! Anyway Trezzy in the 10GG with a guess of 102. No one gets the 10GG for the result because no-one seems to realise what matchplay is. No-one claims the 100GG. The closest guesses were too mundane to earn that much bread! No particularly extaordinary events took place. //////////// TL:DR - 107, A draw, Trezzy for 10GG.

magikaru: Your best run ever with a 96! Your opponent will compliment your swing
mr3d: I'd go with 102. And the event of note is that you will (nearly) tread on a poop.
pricero1: You'll score 101 and you'll be 4 over par on one of the holes.
RealGuest: 100 - you will daydream (whilst putting) of building a practice green in a field near your home so you can nutterputter at will
RavingLoon: 98, the final score will be 98-103, and the event will be that at some point, your opponent shall get stuck in whatever sort of traps they have at that course, and will waste at least two shots getting back on course.
sparkous: you will make 101. The special event will be that you will be dazzled by the sun at some point along the way, because of a moving cloud. And you will think at that moment about this answer.
Woelf: You'll shoot another 99. The event of note will be when, while searching for your ball, you encounter a squirrel. The two of you will share a tender moment of eye contact that seems to last forever, then it scampers off.
MABBY: I see a 97 in your future. He'll shoot 95, though. He'll give you 3 shots and "lose" so your post-game pint will taste extra sweet. You'll spot some sheep on the way home.
