¿Question #220775?
freechinanow: What is your favourite Star Trek series, and what makes it your favourite?
pricero1: The original, 'cause it was breaking new ground and it was when I was a kid.
Inkedad: DS9>TNG>everything else as it should be in the Great Material Continuum
mr3d: The clone wars from 2003
freechinanow: TNG forever and always, but my wife have been watching all the series again. As long as you skip the notably terrible episodes, I’m actually surprised how much I’m enjoying Voyager. It’s very action oriented and has good sci-fi, even if a lot of it just rips on things TNG already did. Fewer intriguing characters (I bet the producers never guessed The Doctor would become everyone’s favourite) but both he and 7 of 9 are fascinating to watch when the episode is about them.
Ruesailmana: The Next Generation because of Sir Patrick Stewart!
pwilz: Deep Space Nine. The characters are not all goody-goodys.
Fribian: My age rules here because the original series was so very fascinating to me. After that, it just wasn't the same, although I did like those too.
MABBY: Deep Space Nine, because the crew didn't f*** around with the prime directive on a new planet every episode. Instead of looking for it, trouble came to them. Also: Superior character development and interaction, and *by far* the best villains (Gul Dukat, Kai Wynn, Wayoun).
mattomaw: The first one, because it is actually the only series I have ever really seen.
RealGuest: The original. Capt. Kirk, Spock, Dr. McCoy. And the Gorn.
Woelf: I grew up on TNG so it'll always be near the top, but DS9 has climbed above it. I didn't like that one as much initially, but I'd also missed several episodes along the way and saw some out of order. It was much better when I re-watched it later, completely and in order. I really liked the serialized nature (before that became the standard for pretty much everything), and the characters had just enough darkness to make things interesting without losing the optimism of Star Trek in general. The Defiant is probably the coolest ship in Star Trek ever.
Jedadeana: The Next Generation is the one I grew up watching, so that's my favorite (and was probably my very first TV series, actually, since it started when I was around a year old)
