¿Question #220836?
PolarDad: Another SERIOUS QUESTION... We are in a lodge with my wife's family. The wedding is tomorrow. Wife and I have to go home after the wedding tomorrow afternoon. Most of her family is staying until Sunday. I brought a few games INCLUDING my brand new one. My wife's family likes me teaching them games but they aren't gamers. They asked me to leave all the games I brought with them when I leave. I'm struggling. My sister-in-law has spilled drinks on my games three times before with me there. I worried what will happen if I'm not here. Would you leave your games or say no and come off like a jerk?

sparkous: This reminds me of a time when I lent 3 custom magic the gathering decks to a friend's brother during a week's vacation and afterwards we had to meet in Paris so I could get the cards back. I accepted but it was a bit stressful.
rayzg: Leave only one game. They are non-gamers. They most likely won't play any, which is a better argument not to leave any. Simply "forget" that they asked you to leave games.
magikaru: I’d take home the brand new one but leave the others
RealGuest: What's more important: games or people? People eat and drink and play and yes, sometimes spill. Be happy the games are getting played. And maybe don't leave Xia or other games you value more than people.
Woelf: I was going to say exactly what you said you'd do. Leave them one game that's easily replaced, and that they're already familiar with.
PolarDad: Thank you, friends. I think I will leave them one they have played before and enjoy...and is easy to replace...Ticket to Ride. If they press for another, maybe Celestia but I really don't think they can play that one without me. The new one goes home with me based on the excuse (which is true) that I promised my oldest we would play it tonight when I get home. If I leave it, my oldest will head back to her town on Sunday before they return.
mr3d: I would choose one game they like most and give it as a gift to them.
mattomaw: I wouldn't lend them out. Especially if they are not gamers. There is a fair chance they will come back damaged. I might leave them one or two half beat up ones, or cheap ones or ones I don't really care for. If they are not gamers then they will find something else to do.
Ruesailmana: I would say no for the new one. But I would have brought other games I could leave behind and I would have told them about the new one that it is way too complex for them and they wouldn't like it anyway.
oriecat: Ohh that’s a tough spot. Really would depend on the game, I think. Your new one, no way! Something older and less attached to or easy to replace, maybe?
