Fribian: Probably about 16 miles.
MABBY: Psychologically it felt like hours but in reality it was about 20 minutes. So we arrive at our hotel in Vegas and want to take a taxi to a different hotel further up the strip. We get in the cab and he starts the meter. We can't go out the main entrance because of construction so we have to use a side access road. We wait for traffic on that and finally get onto it, then stop at the lights to get onto the strip. Once we finally get on that, the driver says, "There's a really good view of the front of your hotel". We've been in the car for ten minutes and we are only in front of the hotel, 350 yards from where we got on!! And the meter clicks on. What a rip-off.
