¿Question #221270?
imyourskribe: What greeting can you use that shows interest but doesn’t make the person potentially feel crappy answering it? In particular, I’d like an alternative to “how are you?” for people who are likely to answer negatively if they do so honestly.
Tim%20Synge: Well, helloooooooo!
mattomaw: Yo Dudio!!!
pwilz: There's this guy I call 'Greetings Man.' because he always says, "Greetings!"
RavingLoon: If you wish to engage them in conversation, I would recommend "Hello, (their name here)". However, whenever I want a noncommittal greeting that doesn't necessarily invite any response, I always use "Good day."
mr3d: how am I?
pricero1: Hi, good to see you!
Woelf: "Hello there!", which has one truly correct response, but also allows for countless acceptable responses. You could also try "Damage Report!?".
magikaru: What up dawg!
