Tim Synge: When did you last forget to take your mobile phone (US: cellphone; German: Handy; French: téléphone portable or téléphone portatif) with you with the result that you were unable to drive to the address you wanted to get to because you didn't know exactly where it was?

rayzg: I haven't driven a car in years (as I don't own one). When I was vacationing in Venice, my phone ran out of batteries. Fortunately, I was able to get back to my friend's place by intuition!

BOBBYCAN: Germans call them a Handy? As in "We need more handy towers around here to get better handy reception"?
Woelf: My phone doesn't have GPS/navigation on it, so it has no bearing on my ability to drive somewhere. If I'm going somewhere I don't know, I always look it up on Google Maps first and hand-draw a quick map with the necessary relevant info.
