¿Question #221404?
pricero1: What are your biases?
mattomaw: I only have one arse.
MABBY: I'm opposed to sour cream. Sometimes a man has to take a hard stand in life, you know.
TomTi89: Let's see. *Googles "cognitive biases" and opens a list of the top 10. https://www.verywellmind.com/cognitive-biases-distort-thinking-2794763 * -Confirmation bias- sometimes, but I think I am somewhat resistant to it. Might need more self-awareness regarding this one. -hindsight bias- no, I like to think I've taught myself not to do this. -Anchoring bias- Yes, I'm pretty sure I am susceptible to this one. -Misinformation effect- Well, my visual memory isn't always the best, so I likely experience this one too. -Actor-observer bias- Hadn't heard this one before. Interesting. Will reflect on it. -False consensus effect- Oh, I realised a long time ago that I'm probably not in the norm with the things I think! -Halo effect- I'm not consciously aware of whether or not I fall for this one, but I suspect I do. -Self-serving bias- I think I do this a bit too, but I also know I'm lazy and ruin many of my own chances, so I don't fully have this bias. -Availability heuristic- I feel like, in me, the final bias, -Optimism bias- outweights the availability heuristic. I'm closer to being a realist than to either extreme, recognising that bad things can and do happen, but also can be a little careless in some regards.
BOBBYCAN: Blondes. No, redheads! Wait, it's brunettes. Yeah. What?
