TomTi89: What does Christmas look like where you live? Particularly interested in non USA or UK countries, but even if you're from there, does your town/state do anything a little differently? Do you have a version of Santa Claus / Father Christmas? What do you traditionally eat?

Modpin: In Remnant, we celebrate Non-Descript Winter Holiday.
PolarDad: Due to my personal faith, it is Christ-focused. We also have many traditional decorations though...tree, wreaths, etc. We will have a big meal with extended family (about 20 of them) at some point. It will include ham, potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, steamed veggies, bread, deviled eggs, pink salad, relish tray (with a variety of pickles, olives, etc), and maybe a couple pies. We do an advent calendar that focuses on doing good for others. We will read the Christmas story out of the Bible on Christmas Eve. Christmas morning has bacon in the oven, Nat King Cole singing through the house, stockings being emptied and gifts being opened. Gifts are modest but (hopefully) thoughtful and something the receiver really needs or enjoys. Santa was always minimized and his presence was to point to the entrance of the Savior in the world. The remainder of the day is about spending time together as a family.
