MABBY: The 1840s were big for the classical composers. You've probably heard a few symphonies and not even realized it.

PolarDad: I love a lot o the music from the 40s! It stems mostly from my father's childhood and from my love of 40s movies. Benny Goodman, Glen Miller, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey, Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys...GOOD STUFF!
notafish: My gramps lived in Chicago back then and got to sit in on some pretty phenomenal jazz orchestras. There is a special place in my heart for my grandparents' music.
