TomTi89: We went to a board game cafe once. Well, a few times, but this was the first time. Tried Takenoko. Now, I really don't expect every member of staff to know the ins and outs of every board game in the cafe, but they are supposed to be able to explain the rules to whatever you are trying to play. And either they explained the rules a little wrong, or we misheard. Either is fair, but for the analogy I'm about to make, it's a cafe, it's not upmarket. If we were to go a fancy board game restaurant, I would expect the waiter to really know their stuff. To be able to recommend a game just from looking at us. To know when we are confused versus when we are just thinking. To refill our glasses when they are almost empty. To know when it is time to move us along without us feeling hurried.
