rayzg: My new, expensive laptop comes with a programmable, keyboard lighting system. By default, all the keys (and the lighting system that surrounds the edge of the laptop) light up with an animated, rainbow spiralling pattern. I quickly found a way to turn off all lighting effects. What practical use could you think of for such an elaborate system?

Woelf: If it's an option, having it light up specific keys would be neat for certain games. Having a key light up when you press it could be interesting too, but may get annoying after a bit. It could also be useful for typing classes (do they even have these anymore?) where they're trying to teach people to type without looking at the keys, but having crazy swirling patterns and such that force people to look away.

RavingLoon: Have them all light up one plain color to make it easier to use in the dark. I often use my laptop with all the lights in my house off so I appreciate the underkey lighting.

Blazur: Synchronize the hue to your laptop temperature (i.e. red for overheating).
