¿Question #222723?
Woelf: Played the first few missions of The Crew with my two youngest daughters yesterday. What unexpected difficulty did we encounter?
Woelf: I realized in the middle of the rules explanation that neither of them had ever played a trick-taking game before or had any real concept of what that entailed, which sidetracked things into a completely separate rules/gameplay explanation. We'd talked about playing Tichu several times in the past, but never quite got around to it, and no other games we have (that they've played) use that as a core mechanism. We ended up playing through the first three missions, but I had to mostly walk them through what to do to complete the tasks correctly. I still don't think they entirely understood the concept of trick-taking yet, much less any of the nuances involved with playing the right cards at the right times. Before going further in The Crew, I think we'll need to do several practice rounds without using the tasks at all just to get them a little more familiar with the base concept.
MABBY: You all couldn't stop from talking and giving advice.
sparkous: I haven't played the Crew yet. But I will try to answer. You were having trouble with this Mechanisms : Communication Limits.
