TomTi89: Do you, or anybody you know, celebrate name day? How important is it compared to your/their birthday?

TomTi89: Michael and Juliette, in a lot of Europe and Hispanic America [though apparently less so now than before in the latter]. Each day of the year is associated with a certain name, traditionally a saint's name, but in some countries it's not really a Christian thing. Anyway, when the day comes round that matches your name, it's your name day, and you will may have a celebration, to varying degrees. I think in most countries it's less important than your birthday, but I'm sure I remember that, in some countries, it is [or was] more important.

BOBBYCAN: I googled it and found there are a couple of Saint Bobby's (Robert's).

TheNameWasTaken: It's a commonly celebrated thing here. Not as important as birthdays, and adults don't usually don't throw name day parties, but kids do get presents.
