¿Question #222877?
imyourskribe: Who is your favo(u)rite musical artist? Group or solo is fine, but please only choose one.
freechinanow: Frank Zappa. Although some of his music comes off as one big inside joke between him and himself - but when you consider the staggering volume of his output, and the fact that he cleverly worked between warping conventional music or defied it in very interesting ways; his knowledge of 20th century classical music and its influence on him; the fact he's probably in the top 5 of greatest guitar players of the 20th century; his fight for freedom and the American way without ever being a "lefty" or "Conservative" but rather just "don't be an asshole" sorta politics... he was a giant asshole though, and his obsession with work ethic scares me. But he was a singular genius and a decent family man, which for me makes up for all his weird habits that made him a rather unapproachable human being.
oriecat: Depeche Mode
PolarDad: It depends on my mood. Today, I'm jonesing for some music by Nat King Cole.
rayzg: Bach
RealGuest: Hard to narrow it to just one. For live performances, I'd have to go with BR549. Recorded, probably Dwight Yoakam.
Woelf: Sara Bareilles
pricero1: Elvis Costello.
Lord__Prussian: Pink Floyd.
mattomaw: Hands down Steve Hillage. Especially his albums from Fish Rishing through to For Too Next. Motovation Radio is a classic.
