¿Question #223012?
PolarDad: I know I'm in the minority on this but...a board game that requires an app is an instant out for me. What potential feature of a board game would instantly make you uninterested in it?

mr3d: Whether board or card game, if it has cash cow expansions or a pay to win aspect (like in MTG) that instantly puts me off.
rayzg: If it's not an abstract, party, dexterity, or letter-based word game, then I'm not interested.
0Shea0: I generally don't enjoy games with points trackers, though there are a few exceptions for games with a lot of theme.
pricero1: Sci-fi and apps.
mattomaw: Cthulu pretty much does this to me.
Woelf: I don't think you're in the minority on that. Having an app available that assists with a game or adds some extra features is one thing, but if the app is required to play, that's a deal-breaker. I'm also not a fan of the Legacy mechanism, unless it's 100% resettable when you're done.
sparkous: A board game where you have to scream is a no-go for me immediately.
pwilz: Right now, I'm turned off on the whole "Play cards to win battles on different battle fields." mechanic. The only one that I'll play is Battle Kittens, because Battle Kittens is awesome.
RealGuest: I've found apps to be ok for one off games like Unlock, Escape, and Detective. Otherwise, I'm not a fan. I'm more turned off by collectable marketing.
imyourskribe: I’m right there with you. The only exception I’ve found is the Search for Planet X, which I played to humor a friend and enjoyed. Though my hatred for hidden role games knows no bounds.
