¿Question #223144?
PolarDad: If you are utterly alone in a hospital waiting room (the old people went back), is it rude to turn off the annoying tv set?

pricero1: Tune it to a station that is just static.
magikaru: Why the hell they have a depressing news channel blasting at you while you are undergoing a great deal of stress, I will never know
mr3d: Not at all. It is the right thing to do.
Ruesailmana: Definitely turn it off
kswingruber: If no one is paying any attention to it, then it's not even rude to turn it off when people ARE there (they'll prolly thank you for it). If you're alone, unplug it and cut the end off the power cord (the "Oedipus Option").
rayzg: There shouldn't be a TV there in the first place! Or at least the TV should be muted.
Woelf: Absolutely not. If you're not comfortable with turning it off, at least turn it down.
oriecat: Nope! Do it.
mattomaw: Change the channel.
