¿Question #223311?
mr3d: How much should luck be a factor in the ideal game?
Woelf: 30%-40% -- A more skilled player will still win most of time, but the end result isn't already determined before you start, and there can still be some other surprises along the way.
rayzg: In the ideal game, players should be able to proactively and strategically exploit luck to their advantage rather than tactically react to it.
PolarDad: I don't mind it to a point. I actually often enjoy the challenge of overcoming unexpected 'events' or 'obstacles'. I don't really enjoy games that are pretty much pure luck.
RealGuest: Enough to potentially even out over the course of the game. Enough to keep up tension and allow a come from behind victory. Enough to mess up the best-laid plans occasionally so as to make spending the time to come up with the very best laid plans not worth it. Not so much as to make choices not matter at all, though.
pricero1: Enough so that a less skillful player will win 10 - 20% of the time.
