Blinko: I see someone is suing Facebook due to a murder where the assailants got together via Facebook. Seems like phone, pen and paper, etc. companies could be on the hook for a whole lot more. Your thoughts?

MABBY: You can't protect morons from other morons. Predicting how your technology will be used is a fool's game.
Woelf: If it was just some random Facebook group that happened to discuss their plans there, suing FB would be a huge stretch. However, after looking up what the case was actually about, far-right extremism/terrorism that was heavily targeted and pushed by FB's algorithms, there's no question that FB has blood on their hands. It's still going to be a stretch to go after them legally though, at least for that specifically, so the case is likely to get tossed even with appeals.
