rayzg: I just played Tigris & Euprhates ... my first board game with people in a very, very long time. Every time I show this game to others, they want to immediately buy it, and then they become disappointed that it’s out-of-print and costs about $300 in the second-hand market. Do you think this game will ever be back in print? Or alternatively, can this game compete with the other “heavy” games coming out now?

pwilz: Yellow and Yangtzee is very similar. It's a bit better in my opinion because of the hexagonal tiles rather than square ones. This game is an excellent game, and I rate it very high. Many old Knizia games are still very good. Break out Ra, Modern Art, or E&T for gamers that haven't played them, and they will oooh and ahhh.
Woelf: It's likely that it'll return someday, but it's impossible to know when. A good way to trigger an immediate reprint is to buy a copy for $300+.
imyourskribe: My understanding is that Yellow & Yangtze is very similar, but I haven’t looked into it.
RealGuest: I would expect it will be reprinted. There are a lot of second hand copies available, though, for closer to 80-150 it would seem. So, it would have to be a relatively small run to sell out. Or maybe an investment in quite a few Knizia properties.
sparkous: I understand that after playing Euphrat & Tigris people want to buy this game, it's a masterpiece. I still have my copy of Euphrat & Tigris - Hans im Glück first German edition 1997. And I will always keep this game with me. 300$ on the second hand market I find it very expensive. In France, you can find second hand boxes for 15 euros. The 2015 ~ 2018 editions have lowered the prices on this game.
freechinanow: Knizia's always seem to come around again. And there does seem to be a lot of new people joining the hobby every year. I'm not sure what the average new hobby gamer is like today and whether they care to research the past (or if they're only into $800 miniature-filled campaign-style Kickstarter games). If anything, the fact these do sell for $300 on the secondary market - and that's also in consideration that tens of thousands of copies of T&E exist - it seems very much like there's still a market for it - one you would assume that the rights holders will want to capitalize on eventually.
