¿Question #223755?
mr3d: Do GOATs (Greatest Of All Time) lose their GOAT status when a new GOAT becomes GOAT, or by definition they were never GOAT to start with?

Woelf: A GOAT will always remain a GOAT, unless they actively do something to lose the title. The classifications or qualifications for new GOATs always get changed just enough to avoid overwriting any previous GOAT achievements, while still acknowledging that the new GOAT might actually be better. If there's not a way to distinguish a new GOAT from a previous GOAT, one becomes the "Special Edition" version, or GOAT-SE, but there's a lot of nuance in determining which is which in that situation. Google "GOATSE" for more details.
