USP45: Are you worried about catching Covid?

ricardofo: I got covid 25 days ago. I had a sore throat, but it went away with time.
rayzg: Yes. Whenever I do sports, I'm the only one wearing a mask. I suffer greatly when it comes to regular colds so I'm scared how COVID will feel like.
TomTi89: Yes and no. I get the vaccines, and test myself and wear masks as a requirement of my job. I also test before and after social events. With the UK relaxing all restrictions, and with us going to a hotel convention in March [we went there right before I caught it before, so is this idiocy?] and France and Italy in August [planned for the third year running as we had to keep postponing it] I think the chances of catching it again are going up. However, I have come off some long-term immunosuppressants, so I am building up a better immune system, and the current dominant strain, at least in this country, often produces less severe symptoms than previous variants. Yes, I know it can still be bad, it can still be passed on, and it can still lead to long covid, and that it could evolve again into something worse, but I mostly mean from a selfish, short-term perspective it's not as immediately scary as alpha or delta, especially now with the vaccines and anti-viral drugs available, and again with me having a better immune system than in March 2020. Still, I am due a 4th vaccine and will take it, and continue to take precautions, but am building back up to the life I was used to previously. I will still try to protect others. We [the UK] are abandoning the requirement to isolate if we are positive[!], but I will do that anyway, the same as if I won't go out if I have flu etc. There are definitely many sides to this question.
BOBBYCAN: Yeah, though I'm sure I'll get it eventually. My vaccine and masks seem to be working well so far though.
pricero1: I don't react well to respiratory diseases, so whilst I am not worried as such, I do take care.

Woelf: Yes, especially for our kids because of pre-existing medical conditions that will not react well with COVID.
