pricero1: Which would be more confusing: a portrait painted on a canvas in landscape configuration or a landscape painted on a canvas in portrait configuration?

TomTi89: What is it with you and trying to rotate things? Hmm, ok, well, we'll be in France in August. We'll pop into the Louvre and get a professional opinion for you.
MABBY: She's REALLY fat, and the canvas adds 10 pounds, so I had to paint her in landscape.
RavingLoon: The former, if it is a facial portrait and not a full body one with background. You can make very nice landscapes in portrait configuration.
Woelf: Either works depending on what specifically is shown. Painting a mountain in portrait works if you're trying to focus on its height. A portrait in landscape works if stuff (or other people) around the subject are important too. The only thing that really matters is to always film things with your camera or tablet in landscape.
Fribian: Don't know that would be confusing to me, but a portrait on landscape might be. Need some good ocean background on a beach for that one I guess.
