Grimsalt: In my experience, safety deposits for anything come in arbitrary brackets, depending on industry standard set by morons. Eg. $50/month Fido cellphones have a $100 deposit fee, while my $600/month apartment's keys were also $100, wtf.
TomTi89: I bought my first car outright from a private selller. It was relatively cheap, though, and now it's hardly worth anything because I killed it.
