¿Question #224375?
Woelf: Have you done your taxes yet?
pwilz: Yeah. I had to do them for both me and for my father-in-law's estate. Pretty simple in both cases this year, especially now that the standard deduction is so much better that itemizing is not worth it for us.
Woelf: I did it this weekend. TurboTax (online) had a discount on their services if you did it before the end of the month, and having used TT last year meant a lot of info was already entered, so it only ended up taking about an hour to finish. Federal and State have both been accepted into the system already.
TomTi89: Here, if you have a fairly simple situation, you don't do taxes. They are taken from your pay automatically. If they are done wrongly, you get a refund or are required to pay them back, but that decision is made for you too, though it helps to keep an eye on it yourself too if you can. If you are self-employed or have your own company, then you need to do your own taxes. I think as well there are other situations in which you do, for example making a certain amount of profit when selling stocks outside of a tax-free account.

mattomaw: Taxes?
pricero1: I'm up to date until the new tax year starting on April 6.
PolarDad: Did them back at the end of January.
Ruesailmana: Our forms comes pre-filled in March I believe.
RealGuest: Not yet, but close.
oriecat: I think I've put all the stuff in the site I use, but I gotta doublecheck it all and finalize. Been meaning to do that! Thanks for the reminder!
