TheGrimReeple: After many years of thinking that diarrhoea is a bloody terrible word to spell (note, just talking about spelling, if you have literal bloody diarrhoea, please see a doctor), I recently learned that my confusion is exacerbated by the US having a different spelling (no O). In the interests of unifying the English-speaking and "English"-speaking cultures, I propose replacing both variations with the far more apt "dire-rear". What other disputed words can we improve with a new, universal spelling?

Woelf: You can simplify things and avoid most of the letter usage disputes by just calling it "the runs".
Grimsalt: This - coming from a nation that pronounces “read” 2 different ways depending on tense employed - is rather rich. Nice one though, considering the O (as in Orifice) was a little obscene to begin with... Although I must say, you Brits keep accusing Americans of stealing your letters ; while maybe you’re the ones randomly adding them to words. If planting false flags to discredit ex-colonies sounds like something only Mother Russia would approve of, remember that the UK was laundering oligarch money until just recently. Ouch! Burn.
