Grimsalt: You’re focusing on the front-end (W-oe) ; if we focus on the back end (oe-L) we get : shoeless (eww), toelike (owe), foetal (eeh), foetid (eh). That’s not even accounting for french sounds like noel, oeuvre, soeur. Phonetic inconsistencies everywhere, we all speak barbarian. Chisel my nizzle.

Woelf: The oe comes from the old German ö, but it's pronounced "wolf". Can you guess why I don't play PBF games of Werewolf with random non-GQ groups?

RavingLoon: Wait- checking my own questions reveals I learned this and asked a GQ about this before. I completely forgot at some point. Wo-Elf just seems much more natural a pronunciation to me.
