TomTi89: Creatures which appear so alien as to be entirely divorced from the concept of sex/gender.
Grimsalt: I quit saying "it" when I learn it's name - including for Humans.
MABBY: Until you give a personal name to the animal, any animal is an it. True story: A friend's daughter once raised a calf for her 4H club, and named it after me. The weird part: We bought 1/2 of its meat when it was butchered, so when I served burgers or steaks they were also "named" after me.
mr3d: "Bloody moskito, kill it!" is easier on the soul than saying "kill her, mother of moskitos, who is risking her life for a droplet of blood to feed her offsprings".
