¿Question #225504?
pricero1: Is the age at which people are allowed to vote about right, or do you think it should be raised or lowered?

TomTi89: I think back to how mature I was [hint: not very] and how well-developed my thoughts were [also not very] on politics at the age of 18, and shudder at the thought of past-me voting. Then I wonder about me at the age of 16... This is not a comment on raising or lowering ages. Just an anecdote.
D00MSTALKER: People should be able to vote at any age as long as they are voting for the amazing D00MSTALKER!!!
pwilz: Please see song, "Burn Down the Malls."
mattomaw: I have never had the opportunity to vote about right.
Woelf: The age restriction is fine. It's low enough to get younger people involved, but not so low that they'll still be directly controlled by their parents and other adults. The real issue is access, and making it as easy as possible for people *who are legally allowed to vote* to vote. More polling stations, same-day registration, readily available vote-by-mail, etc..
PolarDad: I wouldn't mind seeing it raised a little but if we are going to let 18 year olds join the military and possibly give their lives for the country, then they need to have a say in who is leading them at the same age.
