Blinko: With photography, is there even a need to paint non-abstract paintings?

Fribian: No, but some do it just to see if they can. I've always thought it boring to try and copy something. I'd rather make something from my imagination and get to down on paper to my satisfaction.
pwilz: The nude models are the only reason I took this painting class in the first place.
BOBBYCAN: There are still places camaras can't go.
pricero1: People don't buy or paint figurative art to look like a photograph.
