pricero1: It's gone downhill since Mandela, but is still recoverable.
TomTi89: Not many, really. Definitely nothing first-hand. No rush to visit. Plan to go all around Europe first. Africa, South or otherwise, can wait.

Woelf: There's a really interesting documentary film about the country called "District 9". It has some course language so it's probably not appropriate for viewing in school, but it's definitely worth seeing.
oriecat: Don't know too much, but glad they got rid of the official apartheid.
MABBY: It's WAY more well-known than North Africa is.
