PolarDad: I need to buy some walking shoes this weekend. If you have some, what brand do you suggest?

rayzg: I really, really like Vibram FiveFingers shoes. However, they aren't made for running on pavement, and you'll have to change how you walk. And it's best to put deodorant on your feet before wearing them (especially if you wear them without socks).
Woelf: Merrell Moab 2 Ventilator shoes are really comfortable, and hold up really well. I've liked them enough to keep getting the same kind when the previous ones wear out, and have been through several pairs over the last decade or two. There's a waterproof version too, if you need that, but they cost a bit more.
