¿Question #226388?
pricero1: Do you have a favourite / favorite hammer? Describe it.
mattomaw: My lettercutter's dummy hammer. About 1 1/2 pounds in weight. An iron, inverted truncated cone head, without much angle on the side. A hickory handle that is cylindrical but is concave shaped for comfort. The purpose of the cylindrical head is that you can strike a chisel comfortably at any angle. When carving letters whilst standing upright, you need to be able to strike from all angles. Forehand, backhand, up, down. I have eight such hammers. Three the same but different weights. One lead head ( very heavy). One steel head (different feel to strike). One brass head ( again for a different strike). One with a large wooden head. One with a kind of composite plastic/resin head. Different hammers for different strikes, different stone, and different types of chisel head.
sparkous: A warhammer.
Woelf: Mewmew!
BOBBYCAN: Can't touch this.
