¿Question #226683?
imyourskribe: We’re looking for art for over the mantel. I love pop art, but the saturated colors don’t really go with the rest of the decor. It’s up against light gray masonry, so I’m concerned about putting a black and white photo for fear of it disappearing. Partner suggested a mirror which, while I do think it would look nice, I would rather have a picture. What would you choose to hang?

TheGrimReeple: A portrait of the mango butler.
pwilz: A karl gitter
0Shea0: Uranus would be a good color scheme match.
rayzg: What about a tapestry?
oriecat: Get a pop art mirror! Everyone is happy! https://nycmodern.com/products/dramatic-verner-panton-pop-art-geometric-mirror
RavingLoon: Depending on your preferences, both a starscape (with or without a spaceship) and a dark blue/black dragon would go well I think.
Jedadeana: They sell stick-on mirrors in funky shapes/designs so you could do your own mirror art! Best compromise! (They sell ones in pre-made design too, or just regular mirrors in small/medium shapes if you don't like the stick-on idea)

mattomaw: What you want is a beautifully carved Roman Capital alphabet on black slate. I hear there is great slate in virginia.
pricero1: Shea?
MABBY: Every fireplace should have a portrait of very creepy old woman in Victorian clothing. No exceptions.
