¿Question #227680?
MABBY: I bought a loaf of bread the other day and you know those little plastic clip things that they use to keep the bag sealed at the top? Well this company uses those same clips but-- get this-- they are made out of stiff cardboard and NOT plastic!! Should they receive a Recycling/ Green award of some kind for coming up with something that should have been blatantly obvious to everyone decades ago, but at least now it will divert a fair bit of useless plastic waste from getting into the landfills of the world?

RealGuest: What's the bag made of?
Phil%20Fleischmann: I'd think cardboard ones wouldn't work as well (like paper straws), and would take up just as much space in a landfill. So, no.
pwilz: TL;DNR
Woelf: It's a great idea, until you try to reclose the bag more than twice and the cardboard clip disintegrates.
Blinko: I remember when a wire coated in paper was good enough.
magikaru: Brilliant! Now if only they could come up with a non-plastic bag to hold the bread in. Hold on… what do you mean “paper bags are a thing”?!
