MABBY: It took about three days of trying to learn to speak Italian to realize that even though I learned about sentence structure and word classifications in school, almost none of it had sunk in. In order to learn Italian, I had to re-learn English grammar.

TomTi89: When I was a certain age [single-digits] I was ahead of my age in English and math[s], but something about nouns, verbs, pronouncs etc just wasn't sinking in. Like, which one was which. One day it all just clicked. Took long enough, though.
