Blinko: How long before there will not be separate men and women (however defined) teams in sports? Want to participate in football, basketball, swimming, etc. - try out for the team regardless of pronoun.

Phil%20Fleischmann: They already do for swimming. And in some cases, even wrestling. For football, it will depend on how long it takes to get extremely stupid people in charge of it.
Woelf: Many sports already are mixed or can be easily without any issues (beyond breaking "tradition"), but some high-contact/high-impact sports like football may never be, at least fully, just because of general physicality differences.

rayzg: Don't women and men compete together in equestrian? When I was doing kendo -- a full contact combat sport -- men and women would compete together as well (but that was because there wasn't enough women to create a separate division).
