¿Question #228187?
pricero1: What is the largest number of floors you've been below ground level in a building?
Derang3d: Euhm, I think only 1 floor.
Woelf: The Gateway Arch in Missouri had a big museum under it that went pretty deep underground. I've been in a couple caves too, but have no idea which was the deepest.
rayzg: Four stories at the Diefenbunker https://diefenbunker.ca/en/
Blinko: Cannot recall, although I have been in a large underground limestone mine. Reminded me of Moria in the movies, absolutely black when lighting was off.
TomTi89: Interesting question. I'm not sure. Maybe some kind of museum? When I was much younger I went to the German Underground Hospital aka the Jersey War Tunnels aka Hohlgangsanlage 8 [don't ask me how to pronounce that]. It's "a partially completed underground hospital complex in St. Lawrence, Jersey, built by German occupying forces during the occupation of Jersey during World War II. Over 1 km of tunnels were completed". Apparently it gets as deep as 50m. I don't know if the public is allowed to go that deep, or whether I've been anywhere deeper. Also, as a side story, just to bring up the hospital [the one I work at, that is, not this German / Jersey one] again, it's built on a slope, so you can start on the ground floor [1st floor, for our American readers] go downstairs, and emerge, STILL on the ground floor. Or, you could go a different direction, walk upstairs, and once again be on the ground floor. Really adds to the maze-like nature of the building!
