¿Question #228439?
rayzg: How important are brand names when it comes to purchasing luggage? From my experience, regardless of brand name, either the wheels or the zipper will eventually break.
mattomaw: In terms of importance, this ranks below the importance of hair length of some random dude in Kamchatka.
RealGuest: It will definitely wear out over time, but there are quality differences. Not necessarily strictly by brand name. You can tell if you handle it, though.
MABBY: I think the brand matters if you want them to be tough for at least a short while. But price & brand are no guarantee: I bought a large suitcase, with wheels and retractable handle, in London for 9 pounds and it's lasted longer than any bag I've purchased before or since.
Woelf: I honestly couldn't tell you what brand names, if any, are on any of our luggage. Some came from Amazon, others we've had so long that I don't remember even getting them. As long as they work for what we need and hold up well enough to survive several trips, the name doesn't matter too much. The ones with wheels on them are still in good shape, but the retractable handles on one or two have issues staying up and/or locking back into the storage position, but are still functional enough to keep using.
