¿Question #228747?
pricero1: If there were something wrong with you, would you rather that it could be treated with drugs or treated by surgery?
Woelf: The surgery is more likely to be a permanent fix. Many drug "fixes" stop working if you stop taking the drug.
Ruesailmana: Depends on the something and probably combined with therapy.
TheGrimReeple: Depends rather a lot on the drugs' side effects and how long I'd need to be on them, and how major the surgery. But generally, drugs. I'm already on a fistful of pills, what's one or two more?
Derang3d: Depends - but if all else was equal, surgery. One and done. I do prefer drugs with my surgery tho, but I don't need surgery with my drugs.
Jedadeana: Depends on the issue and possible complications of each, as well as the costs. In general, if it is a life-long thing, probably surgery. In the long run that (hopefully) ends up being cheaper and safer in case drugs aren't always available, get changed (stupid "American Healthcare"), costs go up (stupid "American Healthcare"), and I don't need to worry about accidentally forgetting to take them
PolarDad: I'll just ignore it or work around it, thanks
TomTi89: Drugs first if possible, but I'm not particularly sacared of surgery. In fact, I had a choice of having this surgery [for which I tried drugs first] before going abroad or after, and I chose before, so I suppose I gave up on drugs and chose surgery. It's very case-by-case.
mattomaw: Crystals.
