Derang3d: Are clichés a necessary evil?

Woelf: They serve a purpose. In media (movies, books, shows, etc.) having familiar clichés to fall back on can save a lot of time that would need to be spent explaining backstories and such.
pricero1: Like stereotypes, they have their uses.
